I'm debating whether to write a blog. Part of what I want to talk about is the need for and market for safe and effective lower-speed passenger vehicles.
As you can tell from this website, EcoVehicle developed such a lower-speed vehicle. We incorporated a number of automotive components and used a racecar space frame. We also decided the market was not broad enough at the time (2004-early 2006) to support the product.
What I want to covey are thoughts about:
- How gas prices may have changed demand
- What safety requirements should be incorporated into lower-speed vehicles, especially NEV's
- How relatively simple changes to road and neighborhood infrastructure could make NEV's more viable.
